About Randa

Lonestar born and raised, Randa still lives in Texas with her amazing husband, fantastic son and an entire zoo that mostly lives in the backyard. She loves to dance, read and frantically make building plans that she struggles to follow through with.

In kindergarten, she annoyed her teachers by collecting all the paper during art time, stapling it together and turning it all into books. For elementary career day dress up, she would wear pointe shoes and carry a briefcase (the same briefcase all writers carry she had assumed), because she wanted to be a prima ballerina and a writer. That started an obsession that would (on and off) plague her life.

Many years after thinking she had given up on her childhood dreams, Randa began working as a Sign Language Interpreter (for fourteen years as of 2024, thank you very much), then found a belly dance studio. She has been a professional belly dancer for several years now, trading those pointe shoes for zills and a shiny scimitar. Now all that's left is the briefcase, though that has been swapped out for a Bluetooth keyboard.

Now she's on a quest to share all of those scribbled notes on the back of receipts, those stories written in the margins of history notes and the countless stories that have played out only in her head with the masses … or at least the masses who enjoy fairy tales as much as she does
